Research activity:

as part of the research activity of the DAAC (Dipartimento di Architettura ed Analisi della Città -Department of Architecture and City Analysis) of Faculty of Architecture of Rome “La Sapienza”, contributes to the organization of the following activities:

1. conference on Ludovico Quaroni, realizing an interview with Prof. Arch Vittorio Gregotti;

2. investigation on renovation, reuse and enhancement of architectural artefacts in historical urban settings;

3. intervenes at the conference entitled: Rome. Possible identities, illustrating a project for the urban and architectural reorganization of the Esquilino neighbourhood in Rome, held at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome. Project published in Rome 3° millennio, le identità possibili, Palombi editore Roma, 2003.     

is appointed as member of the juries for architectural competitions;

is co-supervisor of several degree thesis in architectural design;

is among the organizers of an international conference entitled: “Ancient and Modern. Transformations in progress in the main European cities “

thanks to an Aga Khan Foundation grant, participates at two workshops in Istanbul, aimed at the recovery of Istanbul historical Peninsula and at the reconstruction of Mostar in former Yugoslavia;

takes part in a workshop organized by AES (t) OP at the Technische Universität in Berlin for the redesign of Alexander Platz;

Participates to an exchange with Aachen University for the project of a cultural centre on the Spree Island in Berlin;

Appointed as Italian Design Ambassador and curator at Mumbai design Week (march 2019);

Teaching activity:

Invited to give masterclasses at Mumbai design Week (march 2018);

Invited to give a masterclass at Sir J.J. College of Architecture in Mumbai;

Adjunct professor at Henan Polythecnic University (annual seminars since 2015);

Visiting professor at China Jiliang University (annual seminars since 2015);

Adjunct Lecturer at La Sapienza University in Rome, teaching architecture and urban design courses.

In the belief that the wealth in teaching and research also depends on the practice of architectural design, both dedicated to architectural competitions and professional assignments, below some of the projects are briefly listed:

Restoration of an ancient village partially destroyed by earthquake. The construction of a single-family house, to be built up on the ruins of an ancient stable, is also part of the project. Villetta Barrea (L’Aquila);

Restauration of an important historical building (Palazzo Lancellotti) in Piazza Navona, in the Centre of Rome;

Eolie and Nebrodi’s Airport, in Messina Province. Sicily;

Renovation and extension of an old rural house in the countryside of Velletri in Rome Province;

Design of a green area within Tor Vergata University in Rome;

Railway station Portus, in the Municipality of Fiumicino, Rome;

Collaborates with Planning department of Fiumicino’s Municipality, participating in the project of eight Social housing urban projects;

Project of a family tomb in the non-Catholic cemetery of Rome;

Renovation of Clay Theatre in Rome;

In collaboration with Studio De las Casas of Madrid, develops the following projects: Health Sciences Faculty at La Coruña University. Galicia, Spain; Istituto Hispano-Luso Rei Alfonzo Enriques. Zamora, Spain; Centro de Auditorio, Palacio de Congresos y Expociciones. Pontevedra, Spain;

In collaboration with Michele De Lucchi Milan design office, develops the renovation project of the Ala Mazzoniana of Termini Rome Central Station;

In addition to the projects mentioned above, has been involved in the renovation of several apartments and the design of several furniture currently on the market.

Participates as co-designer at the restricted competition for the design of new ENEL Group (Ente Nazionale per l’energia Elettrica). Italy;

Transformation and urban renewal of S. Lorenzo neighbourhood in Rome. Competition banned by the Roman Constructors Association, Great Works S.P.A;

Design of a pedestrian bridge (Ponte della Musica) to be built on the River Tiber, between in Rome. Awarded project;

Competition project for the Concert Hall in Sarajevo, organized by the Municipality of Rome and Kanton Sarajevo; Awarded project;

In collaboration with Manuel de Las Casas Architecture Office based in Madrid, participates at the Architecture Competition “Edifici Mondo” aimed at the recovery of the historic centre of Salerno, Italy. Winning project;

Exhibition pavilion at bologna SAIE (Salone Internazionale dell’Industrializzazione Edilizia) Awarded project;

Waterbus station on Tiber river in Rome. Competition banned by the Civil Engineers. Awarded project;
